are you sure you uploaded the "install" file to the server?

got it...with lots of trial and error...

the mistake i did was copied the entire phpbb set up folder to the location....
mydomain.athost.net/public_html/forum/.......

this folder "forum" contains the entier phpbb set structure.....
that means....

mydomain.athost.net/public_html/forum/install/....

So this was the mistake....

Now the right procedure is:

1. copy the phpbb set in the /public_html/ ..folder

Now dont add a sub folder for the setup inside "public_html"....i.e. /public_html/forum/......

2. once this is done ....
in internet explorer ...go to location....
mydomain.athost.net/install/install.php

Thats it...installation steps will start.....DONE

Hope this was clear...if not ....post ur queris...

bye...
